Do students living in Bellefonte know about some of the cool Spring traditions that started in the Victorian era?
Sure, they know they gather at Talleyrand each year to collect colorful eggs filled with candy, but do they know why?
Have they ever rolled an egg down a hill? Have they ever played a game of croquet? Have they ever made a fun hat and paraded around town to show it off?
You and your students are invited to join Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village APRIL 9, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., as we Celebrate Victorian Spring Traditions: Easter Egg Roll, Easter Bonnet Parade and Croquet.
It’s a fun way to learn about history!
Children must BRING their own decorated EGG to roll and Bonnet to walk the parade route. Adult categories will also be judged! We’ll have some fun prizes and of course, candy.
Talleyrand Croquet is setting up the games for all to play.
So, we hope you and your students decorate some colorful eggs and hats to participate in the fun on April 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., 251 Curtin Road, Howard. I have attached a flier to share with parents and your social networks.
Volunteers are needed. This would be a fun event for an entire family to volunteer! Email: curtinvillage@gmail.com.
Please follow Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village on Facebook. Now more than ever do we need your support as we begin the process to take ownership of this historic property. #springatthecurtin
